Programme Overview

Tairua SLSC prides itself on being one of the best patrolling surf clubs in the country. The committment and dedication shown by our life guards have resulted in many preventative actions as well as life saving rescues.

If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard at Tairua beach please email us, we love welcoming new members!

Tairua SLSC runs an annual Junior Surf Programme where potential guards learn fundamental skills with a view to becoming a qualified lifeguard. We are also very keen to recruit older guards of any age and welcome any interest in doing so.

Once you are qualified you can commence patrolling and are able to utilise Trust Waikato Tairua SLSC's Lifeguard Skills / Development courses to extend your training . We are in operation through the summer, 7 days a week.
