Squash Waikato - Maternity Leave Position - (Fixed Term)
Serving the Waikato for over 50 years, Squash Waikato has a strong presence in the region with a network of 21 affiliated clubs. The appointment of this Manager’s role is crucial to the ongoing success of our sporting body.
The core focus of this role is to increase the participation and performance of people playing squash within the Waikato, meet the needs of our squash community through providing excellent support to our member clubs and maximise the use of our squash infrastructure, increase revenue streams and maintain relationships with funders.
The successful applicant should exhibit the following attributes:
- A high level of passion for sport
- Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and implementation
- Ability to develop and implement initiatives to take the sport ‘to the people and to motivate clubs to increase membership
- Relationship building with clubs, Squash NZ, and other stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and presentation skills
- Ensure the continuation of the successful Squash Waikato ‘team’
- Self-motivation and self-management
- Sponsorship and funding experience
- Experience and exposure to the sports & recreation sector
- Computer skills, including presentation preparation
- Financial skills, including budget development and management
- Manage and maintain relationships across the sports sector
