Programme Overview

Te Awamutu Sports Hockey fields Men's and Women's teams across all grades of the Waikato Hockey Association Senior competition. We welcome new players of adult, and school-aged Yr 10 and above, and work hard to balance a friendly 'family' feel within a competitive club environment. We particularly pride ourselves on developing younger players, alongside our experienced older ones. Despite its name Te Awamutu Hockey draws its membership from all over Hamilton, as well as the greater Waikato and Waipa regions. Established in 1990 when parent body Te Awamutu Sports was formed, the introduction of artificial turfs at Innes Common meant all club trainings and games moved to Hamilton. Hence the club is essentially Hamilton based, and has subsequently grown to become one of the larger successful hockey clubs in the Waikato region.
