Programme Overview

Te Awamutu Hockey fields Mens and Womens teams across all grades of the Waikato Hockey Association Senior competition. We welcome new players and pride ourselves on our friendly yet competitive club environment.

Despite its name, Te Awamutu Hockey draws its membership from all over Hamilton and the greater Waikato. Established in 1990 when parent body Te Awamutu Sports was formed, the introduction of artificial turfs at Innes Common meant all club trainings and games moved to Hamilton.

Hence the club is essentially Hamilton based, drawing membership from the same pool of players as other Hamilton clubs, and has subsequently grown to become one of the biggest, most successful hockey clubs in the Waikato Competition and Midlands region.
