The Peak to Peak Ultra Race returns for 2019, with a similar course to previous years up the two main peaks of Tairua and Pauanui!

The event begins at the Tairua Surf Life Saving Club, where athletes will make their way up Tairua's Mount Paku via the Oceania Coastal Track to the summit reaching the trig point. Athletes then descend to the Paku Wharf where they enter the water and swim across to Pauanui beach.

At the end of the long 3km stretch of golden white sand, athletes then embark on the steep climb to the trig point of Mount Pauanui. As athletes reach this peak, a turn around is made to head back to where they have come, along the beach to Tairua, completing the event at the Tairua Surf Life Saving Club.

This year we are opening another shorter catergory catering for all levels of fitness. 

Long haul: Up both peaks (Tairua and Pauanui) 

Short Haul: Up Tairua's peak only and the turn around point at the end of Pauanui Beach. (Please note the short haul does not include Pauanui's peak)

Entry Fee: $35 (all catergories) 

Race Catergories: Long haul & Short Haul
