Taylah Johnson

Board Trustee

Taylah was born and raised in Te Kuiti before moving to Auckland where she completed her schooling and obtained a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland.

Taylah was a Senior Auditor at KPMG and developed a portfolio that included national sports organisations, not-for-profit entities and large commercial companies. She then transitioned into Management Consulting at the firm, using her financial and legal knowledge to help her clients make strategic and change management decisions. She also worked in Māori consulting. 

Taylah then left the KPMG Partnership to take on the role of Head of Commercial, Marketing, Content & Communications at Moana Pasifika from 2022 to 2024. Her knowledge and experience in setting strategic frameworks was integral for the start-up organisation.

Taylah now works as a Business Development Manager at Kiwibank and is responsible for generating, growing and retaining productive partner relationships that contribute and drive Kiwibank's growth objectives. 

You will also see Taylah commentating and presenting on Sky Sport's rugby and basketball coverage where she provides expert insight and detailed analysis on match day and studio coverage
 
Fa’a Samoa and Tikanga Maori play a vital role in Taylah’s approach to community initiatives and she often volunteers her time to speak to school children on the importance of education and how higher learning has complimented her skills as an athlete.

Taylah has represented New Zealand in BMX racing and Touch Rugby as well as following in her father’s footsteps by representing Samoa internationally in both Rugby and Sevens. She has also represented Northland and Counties Manukau in the Farah Palmer Cup.
