Sharleen Nathan

Board Chairperson

Growing up in New Zealand with strong Pasifika values, Sport was a space where Sharleen found a sense of belonging, a space where she could excel and also learn qualities such as commitment, teamwork, excellence & resilience. Sharleen has been in the Education space for over twenty years. Working with young people in schools, she was able to share her experiences and love of sport through teaching and coaching as well as being an advocate for rangatahi to try new experiences and opportunities outside of the classroom. Sharleen's new role at the University of Waikato, as Director of Te Whai Toi Tangata: Institute of Professional Learning, sees her leading in a space that supports schools and teachers in professional development; helping them reach their communities aspirations.
