Week 1 is all about ProJoe and all the things he loves to do! You'll find all his challenges below, so check them out and have a go - and don't forget to scroll down and fill out the form to enter the draw to WIN a bike!

ProJoe's Challenges

Ngaa wero o Tohunga Joe


Hoppo:

Challenge your whanau. Hop on one leg with your arms folded. Try to “Bump” your partner off balance. Mix it up by changing legs to hop on. 

Hoppo: Werohia too whaanau. Hiiteki maa runga te waewae kotahi i te waa e taakaitia ana oo ringa. Me ngana ki te tuki I taau hoa kia papahoro ai oona waewae e rua. Ka taea e koe te tiinihia ngaa waewae hiiteki. 


Wall Ball:

Pass to a wall or friend. How many passes can you do without dropping the ball? Try and beat your best score. Try with different size balls or a balloon.

Scoot or skate. Perfect your skills while scooting or skating around a track or on the path. What about trying some jumps?

Run Like The Wind:

Running race. Challenge your whanau to a running race. How fast can you go? How far can you go? On your marks, set, GO!

Super Sprints: How fast can you go?

Bike, scoot, skate or run in a race against your friends. Try a hill sprint for an extra challenge.

Travelling Tricks: leaps, side steps, gallops and skips

Outside practice your leaping, skipping, side stepping and galloping. Challenge someone to relays or sprints.

Titi Toorea: Short stick passing game

Kneel opposite a friend or family member holding a Rakau in each hand. Pass or throw the Rakau to each other – how fast, slow, high, wide can you go. Make up your own routine.

Spoke’s Slalom: Zigzag

Set up a slalom course with shoes, cones, posts or poles. Zigzag through the course. Try biking, running, skating or skipping.

ProJoe Holiday Challenges (Ngaa weronga o te hararei)


Great Outdoors: Walk or jog with someone. Ask an adult to go with you. Walk/jog around the local park, garden or lake.
E puta ki waho: Hiikoi, aata oma raanei i te taha o teetahi. Paataihia kia haere ai hoki he pakeke. Hiikoi/ aata oma huri rauna i teetahi paaka, i teetahi maara, i teetahi roto raanei e paatata ana ki a koe.



Obstacle Course: Create a course. Use chairs, cardboard boxes or cones to make an obstacle course. How  fast can you complete the course?
 
He ara komutu: Hangaia he ara komutu. Whakamahia he tuuru, he pouaka, eetahi koeko raanei ki te hangaia he ara komutu. He aha te terenga ka taea e koe te tutuki te ara?



Family Fun Partner Relay: Choose two items to run and touch and then come back and tag your partner who runs and touches the same two items. Time yourself and then challenge other family members.

Spoke's Holiday Challenges (Ngaa weronga o te hararei)


Pedal Power: On your back then on the spot
Lie down on your back and cycle with your legs in the air.
Jump up and run with high knees (like you’re pedalling a bike).
Do 10 seconds of each and repeat. Build it up – can you do 30 seconds or more??

Anoo nei e eke pahikara ana: I a koe e takoto ana, i a koe e tū ana
Takoto ki too tuara, aa, whakamahi oou waewae anoo nei e eke pahikara ana.
E peke, e oma hoki me te hiki i ngaa turi anoo nei kei te eke paihikara koe

Duathlon: Bike and run
With your whānau or friends, practice your running and cycling at the park. Create your own track. How many laps can you do?

Pit Stop: Frantically fast and super slow.
Bike, scoot, skate or run. Go frantically fast for 30 seconds then super slow for 30 seconds. Repeat. For an extra challenge try 1 minute.

E Haere, E tū: Kia tino tere, kia tino pooturi.
Eke paihikara, eke kuuta, eke paparetireti, e oma raanei.  Haere kia tino tere mo te 30 heekona, kaatahi ka haere tino pooturi mo te 30 heekona. Ka mutu teera, mahi anoo eengari kia roa ake te waa. Whakamaatauria te 1 meeneti pea?
